Hi!
I’m Lilly Higgs, an illustrator and comic artist working in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, with my three cats, Peanut, Noodle, and Soy. (Together they make Pad Thai).
I’ve done all sorts of things in my career; I graduated cum laude from SCAD in 2010, lived in Australia for a while, took one look at real estate and ran the other direction, and nowadays can be found doing all sorts of things locally and about. I teach art as an auxiliary, work at a craft bar, and also administrate for the Embroiderer’s Guild of America! (Because one job? What millennial can do that.)
Much of my work is inspired by Scandinavian folklore, with my long-term project Hollow taking place in an analog of early 20th century Norway, and a few smaller pieces set in the time of Vikings.
I’ve also been very active on the zine scene since 2020, both in fandom group zines and solo works.
When I’m not juggling a thousand things I’m also a fiber artist who spins wool and embroiders, runs around as a viking sometimes, and is a Mentor with Louisville Youth Group.
